WB GROUP has signed an executive agreement with the Korean Hanwha Aerospace regarding detailed arrangements for the establishment and operation of a joint venture company. The new entity is to jointly develop and produce rockets and missiles in Poland for missile launchers used by the Polish Armed Forces.<\/strong><\/p>\n

On October 2, the day of the opening of the KADEX (Korea Army International Defense Industry Exhibition) defense exhibition held at the headquarters of the South Korean armed forces in Gyeryongdae, WB GROUP and Hanwha Aerospace signed an executive agreement. The document specifies the details of the establishment and operation of a joint venture rocket and missile producing plant in Poland.<\/p>\n

On behalf of WB Electronics S.A. (the leading company of WB GROUP), the agreement was signed by President Piotr Wojciechowski, while Hanwha Aerospace was represented by General Director Son Jae Il. The ceremony took place in the presence of Pawe\u0142 Bejda, Secretary of State at the Ministry of National Defense, and Hyun Ki Cho, representative of the Defense Acquisition Program Administration (DAPA).<\/p>\n

In the executive agreement, WB Electronics S.A. and Hanwha Aerospace established the next key steps for the establishment of a joint venture company, whose task is to develop and manufacture ammunition in Poland. The provisions of the agreement include the principles for establishing a new entity and acquiring real estate for the production plant, principles for conducting security analyses, and a project implementation schedule.<\/p>\n

Earlier, on September 4, 2024, WB Electronics S.A. and Hanwha Aerospace signed a memorandum of understanding<\/a> as part of their strategic partnership. The document outlined the key requirements for the joint production in Poland of 239mm CGR-080 guided rockets, which are intended for use with HOMAR-K missile launchers.<\/p>\n

The establishment of the production plant will be accompanied by the transfer of technology and knowledge to the Polish industry, as well as the continued development and production of CGR-080 rockets. The project also encompasses the development and implementation of new types of rockets and missiles, tailored to meet the needs of the Ministry of National Defense (MON).<\/p>\n

Within a month, WB GROUP and Hanwha Aerospace concluded their discussions and made significant arrangements to optimize the project structure, ensuring it aligns with the requirements of the Ministry of National Defense and the Armaments Agency. This includes the “Polonization” of CGR-080 rocket production.<\/p>\n

The parties to the agreement conducted an industrial feasibility study, which confirmed key assumptions regarding the market, engineering, research and development, organization, and location. As part of the core elements of the project structure, they also agreed on the details for establishing and operating the joint venture company, as well as the necessary steps for acquiring land to build the new production plant.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
