Strategic agreement between WB GROUP and SAAB

Strategic agreement between WB GROUP and SAAB

During the 33rd International Defence Industry Exhibition (MSPO) in Kielce, WB GROUP and SAAB signed a strategic cooperation agreement. The partnership between these two large entities is another step towards strengthening relations between the Polish and Swedish defence industries.

The strategic cooperation agreement was signed by Adam Bartosiewicz, Vice President of WB GROUP, on the Polish side, and Micael Johansson, President and CEO of SAAB, on the Swedish side. Peter Sandwall, Secretary of State at the Swedish Ministry of Defence, also participated in the event.

The agreement was signed in the WB GROUP pavilion on the first day of the International Defence Industry Exhibition 2025, one of the most important defence industry events in Central and Eastern Europe.

– Synergy between leaders in the defence industry in the development of military systems is not a matter of choice – it is a necessity. A strong defence sector is not only an element of national security, but also a pillar of resilience for the whole of Europe – said Adam Bartosiewicz, Vice President of WB GROUP.

The cooperation focuses on the development of advanced defence solutions and the strengthening of the strategic capabilities of Poland and Sweden. The aim of the partnership is to leverage complementary competencies and accelerate the implementation of innovations for the security sector.

– In this respect, our agreement carries significance that extends well beyond the bilateral level. We believe that future joint projects will accelerate the implementation of new solutions addressing the needs of a dynamically changing battlefield – added the Vice President of WB GROUP.

The cooperation will cover the development, design, and implementation of advanced unmanned platforms and autonomous vehicles, innovative solutions dedicated to the maritime environment, and specialized systems supporting border protection.

– This marks another significant step in Saab’s commitment to advancing strategic defence capabilities between Poland and Sweden. Partnering with WB Group enables us to share expertise and scale up innovation to deliver cutting-edge solutions for national security – added Micael Johansson, President and CEO of SAAB.

The joint projects will respond to the needs arising from the changing nature of conflicts, in which autonomy and the ability to conduct operations from a distance play a key role, minimizing the risk to soldiers.

The agreement creates opportunities for the exchange of expertise and the joint development of scalable technical solutions, ready for use in both national and international contexts, with particular emphasis on strategically important systems.
