The Armament Agency signed a contract with WB GROUP for the delivery of Force Protection systems for air reconnaissance and air cover of the area of operations of HOMAR-K multi-launcher rocket divisions and the completion of division fire module vehicles.
On December 24, the Armament Agency signed a contract with WB GROUP (represented by the leading company WB Electronics S.A.) for the delivery of the Force Protection system for the Polish Armed Forces. The introduction of modern solutions will increase the level of situational awareness of the protection teams and will allow for the identification of threats in the protected region.
The contract on behalf of the State Treasury – Armament Agency was signed by its head, Brig. Gen. Artur Kuptel. WB GROUP was represented by President Piotr Wojciechowski. The ceremony took place on the premises of the Ministry of National Defence, in the presence of Paweł Bejda, Secretary of State at the Ministry of National Defence.
– We are extremely honoured to be signing the contract on such an important day for all of us. This is an extremely important, even innovative agreement. The Force Protection System is a system for protecting the army against attacks by low-flying and unmanned objects, said Piotr Wojciechowski.
– We are proud that the Polish Armed Forces have once again trusted GRUPA WB. The order for the avant-garde unmanned aerial systems, electronic systems and communications for the Polish Army will increase situational awareness and allow for better threat recognition, added the CEO of WB GROUP.
The Force Protection System is used for reconnaissance and air cover of the HOMAR-K divisions’ areas of operations. It consists of a dozen sets of Force Protection unmanned aerial systems from several hundred FLYEYE, X-FRONTER and the FP-SPECTRE radio-electronic reconnaissance system, all connected to the national TOPAZ combat system.
The agreement also includes equipping the vehicles with ICT systems and vehicle and personal radio stations manufactured by WB GROUP (including PERAD radios) along with solutions increasing the range of communication, as well as the supply of specialist artillery equipment and software, such as universal artillery calculators UKART-2.
The systems will be installed on launchers and other vehicles of the HOMAR-K multi-rocket launcher division, vehicles accompanying artillery divisions and on specialist 4×4 off-road vehicles. The agreement also includes a training and logistics package. The systems are to be delivered in 2025-2028.
FLYEYE unmanned aerial systems are designed to conduct image reconnaissance from the air. Each of the airframes can be equipped with a task module equipped with an optoelectronic head with day and thermal imaging cameras, a head with a thermal imaging camera or can be supplemented with a radio signal retransmitter.
The FLYEYE system is successfully used in the Polish Army, where it performs tasks for both the Operational Forces and the Territorial Defense Forces. The Polish unmanned aerial vehicle has also been tested in the most difficult conditions – during warfare in a high-intensity conflict.
X-FRONTER is a scalable, modular unmanned aerial vehicle with vertical take-off and landing. It is designed, among other things, for conducting image reconnaissance. It allows for conducting covert operations, while simultaneously observing objects in the visible and infrared bands, day and night, at any time of the year.
X-FRONTER can perform tasks in the field of target identification and recognition, assessment of the effects of strikes, protection of troops, support for information operations, conducting reconnaissance and support for operational operations.
