WB GROUP and ORLEN have signed a cooperation agreement aimed at strengthening the protection of critical infrastructure, in particular maritime infrastructure of strategic importance for Poland’s energy security. The agreement covers the development and implementation of modern solutions and the exchange of expert knowledge between the companies.
The cooperation will focus on challenges related to infrastructure security, especially maritime facilities. It includes, among other things, the implementation of innovative unmanned systems, testing of advanced monitoring technologies, joint research and development projects, and training to improve the capabilities of ORLEN’s security teams.
“ORLEN is of strategic importance for the security of not only Poland, but the entire region. Our goal is to ensure stable energy supplies. In order to do so, the physical and digital security of our assets is important. This is particularly important nowadays” – emphasized Ireneusz Fąfara, President of the Management Board of ORLEN, during the signing of the agreement.
“The WB GROUP, just like ORLEN, is a Polish entity of strategic importance. Cooperation between a company ensuring Poland’s energy security and a proven supplier of advanced defense solutions that also increase the resilience of key critical infrastructure facilities seems natural” – said Piotr Wojciechowski, President of the WB GROUP.
“The cooperation between the two Polish companies enables the implementation of modern technological solutions that increase the resilience of critical infrastructure. This is an example of the effective combination of expertise in the areas of security and technology, and at the same time an important step in building the strength of Polish industry” – said Ireneusz Fąfara.
“WB GROUP is a leader in the field of unmanned systems, secure communications, and system integration, whose solutions can be used by companies such as ORLEN” – added Piotr Wojciechowski.
The agreement aims at establishing long-term cooperation to improve the security of ORLEN’s assets and to build and develop competencies in the field of critical infrastructure protection. The partnership covers activities in the areas of prevention, education, information sharing, expert analysis, and other initiatives aimed at improving the security of ORLEN Group facilities.
Joint activities are aimed at counteracting criminal acts, including acts of terrorism, diversion and sabotage. The signed agreement is another step towards building modern standards for the protection of key assets and strengthening the potential of Polish companies in the area of security and innovation.
