WB GROUP at DSEI Japan

WB GROUP participated in the DSEI Japan defense fair, which took place in Chiba city on Honshu Island. The ZMU-05N unmanned turret had its premiere there, and unmanned aerial platforms were also presented – reconnaissance and strike, as well as other advanced Polish solutions.

The presence of WB GROUP at the fair in Japan is not accidental. It is in line with the trend of expansion of the Polish entity into Asian markets, but also coincides with the framework agreement on technical and commercial cooperation signed in March with the Japanese corporation ShinMaywa Industries.

The WB GROUP stand was visited by Gen Nakatani, the Minister of Defense of Japan, as well as numerous delegations, including from Japan, France, Latvia, Thailand and South Korea among others. Michał Jaros, the Polish Deputy Minister of Development and Technology, was also present, as well as other representatives of Poland, including diplomats and military officers.

At the WB GROUP stand at DSEI Japan, one could familiarize oneself with the FLYEYE unmanned aerial system and the WARMATE family of loitering munitions. Also presented were the AREX-developed ZMU-05 Remote-controlled Weapon Modules for land vehicles and – revealed for the first time – for naval platforms.

The ZMU family consists of lightweight unmanned turrets adapted to mount various types of machine guns in calibers from 5.56mm to 40mm. They are characterized by low weight, reliability and minimal interference with the platform on which the module is mounted.

In the case of the ZMU-05 series turrets, the armament is a 12.7 mm M2 heavy machine gun. The naval version is protected against environmental impact, the characteristic blue color of the modular body protecting the weapon and components, as well as the lack of a smoke grenade launcher.

WB GROUP is one of the largest manufacturers of unmanned systems in the world, whose solutions have been successfully tested during the largest high-intensity conflict in the world today. With over a decade of experience in the use of unmanned systems in armed conflicts, the Polish entity has unique knowledge and experience in this industry.

Deliveries of Polish unmanned systems to South Korea and Malaysia have sparked great interest from countries in the region in the reconnaissance, reconnaissance-strike and strike systems manufactured by GRUPA WB. It is no wonder that tests of Polish unmanned designs in the Japanese armed forces are to begin soon.
