WB GROUP cooperation with ShinMaywa

WB GROUP has signed a framework agreement on technical and commercial cooperation with the Japanese corporation ShinMawya Industries. The agreement was concluded during the visit of the Minister of Foreign Affairs Radosław Sikorski and Deputy Minister of National Defense Paweł Zalewski to Japan. The agreement covers cooperation in the development of manned and unmanned aerial platforms.

Polish-Japanese cooperation has a very long history, and the countries involved have always treated each other kindly. It is therefore not surprising that an agreement on technical and commercial cooperation between leading entities in the industry of manned and unmanned aerial platforms from Poland and Japan was signed at the Polish Embassy in Tokyo.

The framework agreement on the part of WB GROUP was concluded by President Piotr Wojciechowski, ShinMaywa Corporation was represented by Managing Director and Head of Aviation Programs Katsuo Tanaka. The agreement was signed during the visit to Japan of the Head of Polish Diplomacy, Minister of Foreign Affairs Radosław Sikorski and Secretary of State in the Ministry of National Defense Paweł Zalewski.

– I am pleased with the opportunity to sign a cooperation agreement with the Japanese industry, interested in the development of advanced solutions for defense, in particular unmanned reconnaissance and strike systems and maritime observation solutions, said President Piotr Wojciechowski.

During their speeches at the Polish Embassy in Tokyo, both Minister Radosław Sikorski and President Piotr Wojciechowski drew attention to the need to increase cooperation between Poland and Japan, not only in matters of technical and trade cooperation, but also in the broad sense of political and military cooperation.

In turn, the Japanese side, in the context of the current geopolitical situation, expressed its satisfaction with the prospect of joint activities with Poland and the Polish industrial group, which can enrich the Japanese industry and defense system with experience in the development of military equipment, which has proven itself during a full-scale conflict, as well as in responding to the challenges of the modern battlefield.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of National Defense supported the historic act of initiating Polish-Japanese economic cooperation in the field of defense industry. Representatives of both ministries have made declarations of further assistance in achieving the goals of entities from Poland and Japan.

The Japanese corporation ShinMaywa Industries, employing 6,500 people and headquartered in Takarazuka on Honshu Island, is a well-known engineering and manufacturing company specializing in aviation, industrial machinery and special vehicles, and environmental systems. The company is known for producing advanced US-2 amphibious aircraft. ShinMaywa Industries has certificates from the relevant Japanese authorities allowing it to develop and export equipment and technologies.
