WBG-PGZ agreement – a historic milestone for the Polish defense industry

On September 2, 2025, during the 33rd MSPO in Kielce, WB GROUP and Polish Armaments Group (Polska Grupa Zbrojeniowa, PGZ) signed a cooperation agreement. This is a historic moment for the Polish defense industry, formalizing the long-standing relationship between the largest private and largest state-owned entities in the security sector. The agreement will lay the foundation for future industrial and technological cooperation initiatives.
The agreement was signed by Piotr Wojciechowski, President of WB GROUP, and Adam Leszkiewicz, President of PGZ. The agreement is very important for future industrial and technological cooperation projects, including joint research and development.
Cooperation between WB GROUP and PGZ has been ongoing for many years. It has included a number of joint projects between the Ożarów Mazowiecki-based concern and entities belonging to the Polish Armaments Group, including Huta Stalowa Wola, the Industrial Optics Center (PCO), and Jelcz.
The cooperation between leading Polish companies has resulted in, among other things, the ZSSW-30 remote-controlled turret system for Rosomak and Borsuk combat vehicles (also planned for future heavy infantry fighting vehicles) and the GLADIUS reconnaissance and strike system.
WB GROUP’s advanced C4I and fire management solutions, including the FONET digital internal communications platform and the TOPAZ integrated combat management system, are used in vehicles manufactured by PGZ companies, such as self-propelled howitzers, rocket launchers, and armored personnel carriers.
The agreement signed in September 2025 is an expression of a joint decision to elevate their cooperation to a strategic level. Both parties declare their readiness to build long-term mechanisms of operation based on clearly defined principles, fair competition, and respect for the expertise and experience of each partner.
The document provides for the implementation of joint research and development projects, with particular emphasis on the area of new technologies – both those already under development and solutions in the conceptual phase.
The parties intend to use the complementarity of resources and knowledge to jointly respond to the modernization needs of the Polish Armed Forces and build a competitive export offer. The next stage will involve identifying specific areas of technological and product cooperation.
The signing of the agreement is also a response to the changing strategic and technological environment, in which the pace of innovation implementation and the ability to cooperate within the national defense ecosystem are becoming increasingly important.
Both WB GROUP and PGZ emphasize that this agreement is not only a symbol of goodwill, but also a commitment to work towards strengthening the capabilities of the Polish defense industry, based on proven expertise and a shared vision for the future of the industry.
