During the Baltic Sea Security Talks conference in Gdańsk, WB GROUP expanded its existing cooperation with the Swedish defence industry by signing a new agreement with Saab. The partnership will focus on the GLADIUS reconnaissance-strike system, the manned-unmanned Future Task Force concept, and autonomous maritime systems.
The agreement was signed on 12 March during the Polish-Swedish conference Baltic Sea Security Talks: Strengthening the Polish-Swedish Strategic Partnership, held in Gdańsk and attended by the Swedish royal couple — King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia.
The new agreement further strengthens the existing cooperation between leading defence companies from Poland and Sweden. In September 2025, during the 33rd International Defence Industry Exhibition (MSPO) in Kielce, WB GROUP and Saab signed a strategic cooperation agreement. The partnership between the two companies represents another step in strengthening ties between the Polish and Swedish defence sectors.
The new framework covers cooperation in the field of GLADIUS unmanned reconnaissance-strike systems, Future Task Force manned-unmanned land systems, and autonomous maritime platforms, including unmanned surface and underwater vehicles.
“Signing this new agreement with WB GROUP marks another important step in strengthening cooperation between the Polish and Swedish defence industries. By sharing knowledge and jointly developing innovation, we can advance cutting-edge capabilities and solutions that contribute to security and stability in Europe and the Baltic Sea region”, said Micael Johansson, President and CEO of Saab.
The agreement with Saab forms part of WB GROUP’s consistently expanding cooperation with European partners. Joint industrial projects remain an important element of strengthening defence capabilities in the Baltic Sea region and developing interoperable solutions addressing current security challenges. The signing ceremony was attended by Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, Poland’s Minister of National Defence, and Pål Jonson, Sweden’s Minister for Defence.
