FONET-NAVY Ship Communication Platform
FONET-NAVY is the maritime version of the FONET system, developed on the basis of proven solutions. FONET-NAVY is unified with the land-based FONET version to the greatest extent possible. This ensures safety, allows for cost control, and guarantees the continuous and ongoing maintenance and modernization of the systems in use.
The FONET Digital Communication Platform is a vehicle-based internal communication system deployed in tens of thousands of units across dozens of armed forces. In addition to its role as an intercom and for integrating internal devices in military vehicles, it also enables remote control of radio stations.
The FONET-NAVY ship communication platform is characterized by flexibility and simplicity, while providing sophisticated communication functions. The system will be able to serve successfully for decades to come, thanks to its ability to support easy and rapid expansion and modernization.
The FONET-NAVY system consists of three basic devices: a central unit, a radio amplifier, and operator consoles.
The central unit allows for the connection of up to 30 operator stations, radio communication devices, and data exchange devices. For ships with large crews, the system allows for cascading connections between multiple central units. This allows the system to be used by a larger number of users.
The operator’s control panel includes a built-in speaker and microphone. These features enable wireless communication at operating positions. Headsets or microphones can be connected to the console for more demanding combat or technical stations. The built-in display and keyboard allow access to various functions.
The radio amplifier is a two-channel device used to amplify the power of internal, external, or both radio networks simultaneously. It enables the broadcasting of messages and signals (including alarms) based on loudspeakers in cabins, operating rooms, corridors, and on deck.
The advantage of the FONET-NAVY system is the support for connector-free wiring, also using existing installations. The system devices can be mounted in operator panels and on external combat stations.
FONET-NAVY is characterized by environmental resistance to harsh maritime environments. The communication platform’s power supply has been specifically adapted for naval applications.
